  • Introduction

    The LinguaExpress KFL Program is designed not only to teach the Korean language but also explain points in Korean culture and history in order to help foreigners better understand Korea and its heritage.

  • Faculty

    All faculty members are highly qualified with degrees and teaching experiences (Drs. and M.Ed degrees in Korean Language or Korean Language Education, Korean Proficiency Test Committee members, and ten-years of Korean Language teaching experience).

  • Level Description

      Lower Beginners' Level

      Practicing the Korean alphabet, pronunciation, basic grammar structure, vocabulary items and basic conversation skills (greetings, introductions, descriptions of simple things, etc.).

      Higher Beginners' Level

      Practicing learned grammar and vocabulary through a variety of activities. Getting familiar with Korean vowels and consonants by content-based listening/speaking practice. Keeping a diary (shopping, making-schedule, dining-out).

      Lower Intermediate Level

      Learning more vocabulary and grammars to cover more expanded topics. Practicing conversation in real life situations, using learned vocabulary and grammars. Guided writing about common topics such as travel, health, manners, descriptions of detailed things.

      Higher Intermediate Level

      Building language skills by conducting short oral presentations. Reading advertisements from various materials such as newspapers, magazines, novels & poems, etc. Group presentations and role play.

      Lower Advanced Level

      Enhancing advanced conversation skills by teaching colloquial expressions. Helping cross-cultural understanding by introducing various cases of cultural clashes. Practicing listening, viewing dramas and movies. Reading newspaper articles, magazines, discussing various topics.

      Higher Advanced Level

      Practicing advanced grammars and expanded vocabularies. Discussing Korean culture, society, history and politics. Exercising listening practices with Korean news. Writing research papers.

  • Class Activities

      Grammar

      The grammar class is a prerequisite for speaking class. Each item for grammar study is suggested to the learners according to the degrees of their learning abilities. As the main body of study, the students practise each item to understand the meanings and their use in everyday life.

      Speaking

      In grammar class, the students make full use of the items for grammar study under communicative situations. The learners themselves have the chance to communicate directly with others by practising situational conversations. Speaking class covers easy speaking, as well as various expressions and idioms, according to their learning abilities.

      Listening

      Listening class consists of various listening tasks. The class makes learners communicate with others in relation to speaking practice.

      Reading

      Reading class consists of various reading tasks. According to the degrees of the learners' abilities, this class covers the Hangul alphabet to advanced reading publications such as newspapers , magazines, and story books.

      Writing

      The purpose of this class is not only to practise expressions with various writing tasks but also to achieve communicative abilities.

      Viewing

      In this class, the learners achieve communicative abilities through practising various situations with multi-media using TV or movies.

      1. Visit the LinguaExpress office (Rm. 206, Socialeducation Bldg.) and summit the form to the office. After signing up for the course at the LinguaExpress office, pay the tuition fee at Cho Hung Bank(Chungpa-dong Branch).
